About

Expand your closet
As fashion lovers, we love to keep it fresh and find new fits to express ourselves. On Communitique you can find new or well-maintained clothes in your fit and style for free, and easily pick them up in your area. Explore clothes in your city and try something new that will look great in your next brunch, night out, or wedding party photo moments.

Expand your community
We’re keeping it in the community. You shouldn’t have to spend hours digging through thrift store bins or wait months for the next community clothes swap event to find locally recycled clothes in your size and style. In fact, your local friend probably already has what you’re looking for. On Communitique, you can add friends you know, friends you meet at clothing swaps, or friends you make through the app who have clothes you love!
Did you buy a shirt that didn’t work for you? A dress you only needed a couple of times? A jacket you loved and cared for but you’re ready for something new? Add it to your Communitique virtual closet!
When you see an item you want on the app, simply make a request for the item and your friend can choose to gift it to you, or request a trade from your virtual closet. Message your fashion match through your Communitique inbox and schedule a local swap meet up, drop off, or pick-up.

Save your money
We are buying more clothes and wearing them less frequently than ever before, but there is already enough to go around! Fashion is more than a $1.3 trillion-dollar industry, but you can leave the fast fashion retailers behind and put your money towards other things that bring you joy. Your newest Communitique find will look amazing with a vacation beach backdrop, with your new home, or with your loved ones at your next party!

Save your Planet
At Communitique, we don’t just value the diversity of colors and textures in fashion, we also value them in nature. We’re slowing down fast-fashion and decreasing our carbon footprint to help protect the environment we live in.
The fashion industry relies on huge amounts of non-renewable resources and pollutants for clothing production and distribution, only to create items that make a public appearance a few times before quickly landing in landfills. These toxic new clothes typically travel thousands of miles to make it to you, meaning the average shirt travels more than most people have the opportunity to in years.
Clothing production has doubled between 2008-2023 and the fashion industry is responsible for producing nearly 20% of global wastewater and at least 4% of the world’s total greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). Tons of thrown away clothes contribute to toxic pollutants that poison our essential and beautiful wildlife, waters, and land. Clothes in your closet have already created “embodied carbon emissions”, meaning that there is a set amount of greenhouse gas emissions already generated during their production and transportation, from the extraction of raw materials to the manufacturing process and final delivery. Let’s keep using them as long as possible!
